LAURENCE
C. BEGIN
Born
in Detroit, Michigan, July 22, 1964; admitted to bar,
1996, Michigan; registered to practice before U.S. Patent
and Trademark Office.
EDUCATION:
Wayne
State University (B.S. ChE. 1991); University of Detroit
Mercy School of Law (J.D. 1995).
MEMBER:
State
Bar of Michigan; Michigan Intellectual Property Law
Association; American Intellectual Property Law Association;
Oakland County Bar Association.
Larry
received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical
Engineering from Wayne State University in 1991 and
his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy
School of Law in 1995. Larry specializes in patent law
in the areas of chemical engineering including gas generant,
metallurgical, and environmental chemistry, as well
as related mechanical applications. Larry brings extensive
professional experience to his law practice, having
worked as a management supervisor for Betz MetChem,
and an applications engineer for Nalco Chemical Co.
in the areas of industrial waste water management, treatment
of industrial water-related systems, metalworking fluids
and organic and inorganic, metallurgical, polymeric,
and surface treatment chemistry. Prior to his engineering
career, Larry served in the United States Marine Corps
in an avionics capacity including responsibilities as
an F-4 Phantom weapons system specialist. Larry has
also served as an Adjunct Professor in the Hazardous
Waste Management Program at Wayne State University,
Detroit, Michigan. Prior to forming his present firm,
Larry was an attorney with the law firms of Lyon, P.C.
and Dinnin & Dunn, P. C., both long established,
A-V rated Michigan intellectual property practices. |

KEITH
SCHEER
Born in Columbus,
Ohio, January 21, 1959; admitted to Illinois bar, 1994;
registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark
Office
EDUCATION

Mechanical Engineering; Minor in Computer Science (Illinois
Institute of Technology, 1983)
• Certificate in Robotics Technology (Triton College,
1987)
• JD (Chicago-Kent College of Law, 1993)
• Has completed work toward an MS in Electrical
Engineering/Computer Science (Northwestern University,
Chicago, IL)
Keith specializes
in patent law relating to the technical areas of mechanical
engineering, software development, and electrical engineering
disciplines relating to telecommunications and computer-related
technologies.
Keith brings
extensive engineering experience to his patent law practice.
Prior to his career in law, Keith worked in product
design and project management as an engineer with Eaton
Corporation and Molex, Inc. He has product design experience
in electro-mechanical products and systems, electrical
connectors, cable assemblies, and software for engineering
applications. Keith is also named as inventor on 8 U.S.
patents. Keith has also supervised research projects
directed to the development of advanced electrical connector
technologies and to the reduction of manufacturing costs
in various types of electro-mechanical assemblies.
Prior to
joining L.C. Begin & Associates, Mr. Scheer worked
for the firms of Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon,
and, Ladas & Parry of Chicago, Illinois. |
